Professional Translators and Interpreters in Nevada

Resources for Translators

Here you will find a list of links to helpful and important resources and of interest to translators. This complements the more topically organized Recommended Links and Resources page, which organizes the information by area of specialization, e.g.: linguistics, medical, legal, sign language…

  • Linguee – a Dictionary and Translation Search Engine. Offers terms in German, French, Portuguese, Spanish and English. This resource is especially helpful to translators, as it offers context of translations for given terms found in its large and ever growing database, unlike other automated term lists and “online translators” that only offer alternative terms.
  • ATA Online Learning – although not exclusively useful to translators, the ATA Webinars are a great resource for opportunities to extend and reinforce your specialization or other areas of interest. Includes free and on demand offerings.
  • eCPD Webinars – offers high-quality webinars to help translators, interpreters and other professional linguists develop their careers and run their businesses efficiently and profitably.
  • Thoughts On Translation – great blog about translation, the translation industry and becoming a translator.
  • Medical Translation Insight – great blog focusing on medical translation.
  • The Translators Tool Box Newsletter – a subscription-based biweekly newsletter for translators, chock full of tips and nuggets for getting more out of their computers, by Jost Zetsche, Ph.D. (ATA certified translator, English > German)
NOTE: if you know of or come across a good resource that you believe is of interest to our members, please contact the NITA Webmaster at admin@nitaonline.org (subj.: ‘Link Suggestion’) and include the link you would like to suggest for inclusion on this page.
