TAHIT TeleSeminar: Overview of Marfan Syndrome & Related Disorders

Marfan syndrome is a genetic disorder of the connective tissue that affects multiple body systems, and is potentially fatal, particularly when not diagnosed and treated properly. It is estimated that as many as half of people with MFS do not know they have it. This presentation will provide an overview of Marfan syndrome and some related disorders, including signs and symptoms, basic information on diagnosis and treatment options, and the psychosocial effects of the disorder on those who are affected.

2012 NV State Court Interpreter Orientation Workshop / Written Exam

The Orientation Workshop is the first required step for the Nevada Court Interpreter Certification/Registration. The workshop is followed by the written examination, an oral performance examination or oral proficiency interviews (OPIs) depending on a prospective candidate’s language of expertise.

NITA Free Quarterly Meeting on December 3 in Reno (Free Workshop: Gangs and Guns)

Two hour presentation includes an introduction to terminology and information regarding gangs, segregation, offenses while incarcerated, guns, and other weapons that are commonly found in our NV state prison system and therefore are in our legal system where we as interpreters encounter the specialized jargon.
