NOTES: Unfortunately, due to a lack of registrations for this course offered in Reno, these classes have been cancelled. We offer a health care interpreting course in Las Vegas, held in the fall of 2010. The next opportunity in the Reno / Sparks / Carson City area for health care interpreters to follow this course will be early next year: in the spring of 2011.

Connecting Worlds: Training for Health Care Interpreters in Nevada

A Forty-Hour Professional Development Course

  • Where: St. Mary’s Regional Hospital
    Reno, Nevada 89501
  • When: On these Saturdays: April 10, 17, and 24, and May 15 and 22, 2010: 8 am – 5 pm
  • Who: Trained or untrained interpreters in any language; anyone with an interest in medical interpreting; Bilingual Health Care Staff
  • Why: Improve your Medical Language Proficiency, and become familiar with medical interpreting, ethics, and protocols.

What is included in this Course:

  • Pre-Test: Language Proficiency Test in Second Language by a third party included in package price*
  • Certificate of Language Proficiency*
  • Certificate of Completion
  • Course materials and workbooks for self-study

*Exceptions can be made for certain pre-qualified attendees, with a resulting $90 reduction in training cost, and no proficiency certificate.

Cancellation policy: Refunds are issued only if notice of cancellation is received by March 1, 2010. A cancellation fee of $20 is charged for all cancellations.
