MDC / ESL & Foreign Languages: 5th Conference on Immigration Terminology

The Department of ESL and Foreign Languages at the InterAmerican Campus of the Miami Dade College offers its 5th Immigration Terminology Conference, free of charge but requiring prior registration. Presentations given will include perspectives of an Immigration Judge (offered by the Hon. René D. Mateo, Immigration Judge, Miami Immigration Court) and the role of the interpreter in the courtroom (offered by Héctor A. Suco, Supervisory Interpreter, Miami Immigration Court). The legal definition together with translation into Spanish of terms most commonly used in Immigration Court proceedings and terms that appear on application forms will also be discussed.
