The Center for the Art of Translation and The Northern California Translators Association present:

Impossible Things: Poetry in Translation Workshop, by Karen Emmerich

The Northern California Translators Association (NCTA)This is a hands-on workshop in the art of literary translation, designed both for those who are new to the field and for those more experienced with the undertaking. This workshop will focus on issues common to the translation of poetry into English; translators and students of translation working from any language or languages are welcome to attend. We will discuss the particular problems raised by the translation of poetry, and the various procedures and methods open to the translator. Students are invited to bring up to five pages of translations (with originals) for written comments from the instructor.

Note: ATA-certified members will earn two Continuing Education points.
