The Agnese Haury Institute of the University of Arizona’s National Center for Interpretation is offering a 2-day seminar in Las Vegas on June 6 and 7, among other available dates in locations elsewhere throughout the United States; these are designed to prepare you for the Federal Court Interpreter Certification Oral Exam.

These seminars, based on the UA National Center’s more than twenty-five years of experience, will cover topics in both the Spanish and English portions of the exam, including intensive skill development in all three modes of interpretation: simultaneous, consecutive and sight translation.

These seminars include an overview of the FCICE Examinee Handbook, note-taking tips, test-taking strategies, and each participant has the opportunity to take 2 FCICE Sample Oral Exams.

NOTE: The University of Arizona – National Center for Interpretation has been approved by the Supreme Court of Nevada’s AOC as a provider of educational activity in our state. They will conduct a 2-day seminar in Las Vegas with the purpose of a Federal Court Interpreter Certification Oral Exam Preparation – in Spanish language only.

Attendees will earn 14 CEUs for both days of active participation (7 CEUs + 7 CEUs).

  1. Dr Maria De Colombia Says:

I have been a successful Bay Area Court Interprete for the past 27 years as well as a Medical Doctor/Surgeon and in 1998 a Law School graduate (Juris Doctor), an ambilingual Yoga instructor, Activist for social and envionmental justice, singer/song writer/ dancer and have trained and encouraged many Spanish Interpreters who were low income Artists or Bank tellers to cross the Rubicon and devote themselves ( part time) to the wonderful world of Interpreting ( even Tagalog and Cantonese & Mandarin!) But I’m not full of myself, I am good company and I am mellow ( and do not talk all the time as some Interpreters do ! )
I am planning to take the 2 day June FCICE workshop… And would like a driving buddy, from the SF area maybe… Call me 24 hrs voice mash at(415) 282-2631 please. Love, Maria
