NITA Workshop: Improvisation Techniques for Interpreters
by NITA Administrator ~ November 19, 2008
The Nevada Interpreters and Translators Association invites you to our December 2008 General Membership Meeting, which features a workshop presentation on Improvisation Techniques for Interpreters – by Ines Swaney.
Ines Swaney is a federally and state-certified Spanish court interpreter, and ATA certified English-Spanish translator with more than 20 years of experience.
By means of a series of exercises borrowed from the field of Improvisational Acting, this workshop engages attendees in linguistic problem-solving capabilities.
This event is free and open to the public!
When: December 3, 2008 – 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Where: UNR Campus, at the Matthewson IGT Knowledge Center, Auditorium 124 (street address: 1664 N. Virginia St., Reno, NV – see the locations map for directions; it’s the lower of the two pin markers placed at the center of that map)
The presentation will be followed by an opportunity to network with NITA’s translation and interpretation professionals.
And remember: even though events such as these – which are held within the framework of the NITA General Membership Meetings – are free and open to the public, you’ll also have an opportunity to register as a member to support NITA’s work!
