Benefits of NITA Membership

NITA’s goals include raising the profile and visibility of the translation and interpretation profession and elevating the quality and availability of language services in the state of Nevada.

NOTE: You can register yourself directly, using our automated self-registration form, with payment handled via PayPal. You can register using your credit card, even when you don’t have a PayPal account.

NITA has three “categories” or types of membership, as shown below:

  • Students;
  • Corporate.

INDIVIDUAL MEMBERSHIP

Individual Membership

For professional or aspiring translators and interpreters (i.e.: individual members) – annual membership fee: $35

STUDENT MEMBERSHIP

Student Membership

For students (individual members) – annual membership fee: $25

  • Meet seasoned professionals
  • Informal mentoring programs
  • Networking opportunities
  • Free attendance to NITA’s quarterly Member Meetings, with its presentations and workshops
  • Low-cost / reduced-cost classes and seminars
  • Access to the NITA Forum and full access to website
  • NITA Online e-mail address for each member
IMPORTANT: when you join as a NITA Student Member, you must also separately mail or fax proof of your current student status. You can mail it to the P.O. Box address, shown at the bottom of this page, or fax it to (775) 677-4987. Proof of enrollment must be for a post-secondary educational institution that is a member of the Nevada State University System or a comparable institution operating in a county bordering the state of Nevada. If you cannot meet this requirement you may join as a ‘regular’ Individual Member.

INSTITUTIONAL/CORPORATE MEMBERSHIP

Institutional/Corporate Membership

For institutions and corporations – annual membership fee: $75

  • Professional development for your staff
  • Voting rights in board elections (1 corporate vote equals 3 regular votes)
  • Visible demonstration of commitment to the profession
  • All employees can attend workshops and seminars at the NITA Member rate
  • Inclusion in membership directory
  • Access to the NITA Forum
  • NITA Online e-mail address for every assigned staff member
  • Free attendance to NITA’s quarterly Member Meetings, with its presentations and workshops
  • Low-cost classes and seminars
  • Advocacy partners for the profession

NOTE: Please use our self-registration tool to automatically register yourself and activate your membership upon payment! You can complete payment in one go, once you have completed registration on-line, as you will be presented with a special link to the secure PayPal site, where you can complete payment. You do not need to have a PayPal account; your payment (i.e. credit card) information is not handled by NITA through its website, but directly by PayPal on its secure website to ensure your on-line safety and protection.

If you prefer the more traditional but also slower, manually verified payment method, you can submit a check to the address shown below, made payable to the Nevada Interpreters & Translators Association. Please note however that registration must be done via the on-line registration form; checks without prior on-line registration will be returned. You can mail your check to:
